My morning’s yellow-pad notes on the insight I got from thinking about Annie’s question.

Sorry about the grease marks. They would be from those delicious Costco seaweed snacks. (The night before. Not a morning food for me.)

This Chinese character is pronounced AI in Mandarin. It is composed, from top to bottom, of four radicals: claws (as in to hold tight), crown, heart, and woman.
