My faith in the reality of spirit is empirical.
That is, it is founded on experience rather than, say, belief or theory.
Some of that experience is my own, but most is that of other people. as reported to me directly or indirectly via recorded interviews I hear and watch or via books and articles I read.
Except for zoo experiences, most people have faith in the reality of bears on the same basis.
Some people, because of their religious belief system, cannot agree with my understanding of spirit, and that is fine. But some religious belief systems do have a place for my sense of what spirit is.
And some people, because of their scientific belief system, cannot agree either. For them, science has demonstrated the nonexistence of spirit as I know it. But a rather large number of scientists of established position and impeccable credentials also have a place for my sense of spirit.
Because the claim that science has already disproved the possibility of life after death is so prominent in the belief systems of so many of us today, I want to list a few scientists who do not share that belief. Text below here is from the websources linked. From there the reader may follow links to the credentials and activities of the scientists listed.

Fellow to the American Academy for the Advancement of Science, Professor Emeritus William A. Tiller, of Stanford University’s Department of Materials Science, spent 34 years in academia after 9 years as an advisory physicist with the Westinghouse Research Laboratories.
He has published over 250 conventional scientific papers, 3 books and several patents. In parallel, for over 30 years, he has been avocationally pursuing serious experimental and theoretical study of the field of psychoenergetics which will very likely become an integral part of "tomorrow’s" physics. In this new area, he has published an additional 100 scientific papers and four seminal books.

Eventually, we want to compare this UFO related contact group with individuals that have had other types of “paranormal” contact experiences through the following “Contact Modalities”: Near Death Experiences, Out of Body Experiences, Shamanic Hallucinogenic contact, Mystical Meditation contact, Channeling, Lucid Dreaming, Remote Viewing, and other types of human encounters with non-
The majority of our FREE Board of Directors, including the late Dr. Edgar Mitchell (one of the world’s leading experts on “The Physics of Consciousness”), Dr. Rudy Schild, a Harvard University Professor and Editor of the Journal of Cosmology, Dr. Claude Swanson, a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University and author of “The Synchronized Universe”, Dr. Bob Davis, a retired professor of Neuroscience, and Dr. Jon Klimo, a retired professor of Psychology and one of the world’s leading academic experts on the “paranormal”, hypothesize that all of these diverse "Paranormal Contact Modalities" (NDEs, OBEs, UFO visitations, Remote Viewing, ESP, Channeling, Spirit Interactions, etc) might be interconnected through an advanced physics theory, the Quantum Hologram Theory of Physics and Consciousness, as developed by the late Dr. Edgar Mitchell and Harvard Astrophysicist Dr. Rudy Schild.
All of these so-
