Hi Exceptional People -- I thought we had a good and productive session last time. Thank you for being a great class! This is the time for class evaluations and I'm giving you a high score. While I always appreciate happy class evaluations from you folks, I also always solicit and appreciate thoughtful criticism and just personal reactions of the "I found that video clip [boring/useless/redundant/ etc.]." Also, "Why didn't you cover [X or Y or Z]?" I have evaluation forms in class today and you can pick them up at the office as well. IF YOU FIND IT CONVENIENT, please use the online form, available here: link. It can be reached directly from the OLLI home page where you can also register for classes next term.

Since our last class, I have put up on my bobnotes.org website a page describing my own first effort at EVP with my dear wife Doris, who died on July 19, 2015. I played some of that for you last time, but the sound was inadequate. This web page should work quite well for you at home or the library: http://bobnotes.org/page66.html. It's not a great, clear case of EVP, but it's mine and it does illustrate the phenomenon as experienced by someone you know personally. Here's how to find it from the bobnotes.org page:

In the first four meetings of this class we have viewed materials that surely are persuasive enough of the empirical reality of the afterlife that for our last day we can indulge ourselves in the reports of people who have been there and come back. This happens in near-death experiences and in past-life regressions that go into the time between lives. It also sometimes happens to people who go into out-of-body states from meditation or from other ordinary conditions.

I begin with one of the most widely-read experts in the field of life between lives, Michael Newton. In this video interview he recounts two early experiences that persuaded him of the reality of past lives and of life between lives.

Consider viewing this video on your own: Life Between Lives Regression at Findhorn with Paul Aurand

Published on Jan 23, 2013 -- Paul Aurand conducts a rare public demonstration of a Life Between Lives Regression (LBL) at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. Originally developed by Dr. Michael Newton (NewtonInstitute.org), Life Between Lives is a profound form of regression therapy that takes one through childhood into the womb, past life and on into the time between lives. LBL reconnects you with your own soul, your guides and your loved ones in spirit.

The Pam Reynolds NDE is generally considered one of the most veridical. What I have here is a short excerpt from a longer BBC special report.

Here is a Vimeo source that includes more than I have in class.

And here is a website that reports both her account of the NDE and the physical conditions of her "standstill" operation with further references that you can investigate.

Anita Moorjani's NDE is a great favorite of many people, myself included. She recounts it in interesting and extensive detail in her book Dying to Be Me. I like this interview by Bob Olsen because he listens carefully and asks thoughtful questions based on what Moorjani says. Their conversation occurred about six years ago.

Present ! - Amy Call's Near-Death Experience

You may want to view this on your own. A different world than Anita's and yet the same. Amy encounters recently deceased people in a kind of portal foyer who are not welcoming friends and relatives. (Most of them are some version of suicides, like Amy herself.) She finds a master/teacher, in fact two, and even gets a flight through our solar system. This is my favorite NDE to date because of its moral content (Amy’s own character) and its relevance to our lives here on Earth. It contains one very persuasive veridical experience.
